Outstanding article! As a Montessori family as well, we have truly seen — at this moment perhaps more clearly than ever before—how much these principles of learning (and living!) determine not only our educational outcomes, but also color our experience all along the way. I have also been enormously impressed and inspired by my kids’ ability to adapt and recreate an “orientation” and evolving process in this unprecedented time, and, like you, have learned so much from observing them. As long-suffering multi-tasker myself, I have worked hard, in recent weeks, to carve out specific times for each of my various roles, rather than “rolling” them all together in a stew of overwhelm (work, family admin, household chores, communications, social connection, volunteering, etc). Since four of us are now working from home, I do find myself to be the last holdout of the roving/untethered workplace, which isn’t ideal, but I’m working on a resolution and so grateful for this generous and inspiring prompt to do so, and the abundance of practical wisdom contained in this article in general!
